General Information

PARENTS WEEK

Parents are welcome to come in and view all classes from Monday December 16 to Saturday December 21. PARENTS ONLY PLEASE!!

CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS & MARCH BREAK

The studio will be closed for holidays from: Monday Dec 23 and re-open for regular classes on Monday January 6. The dance studio will be closed from Monday March 16 to Saturday March 21. Will re-open on Monday March 23.

HOLIDAYS

The studio will be CLOSED Monday Oct 14 (Thanksgiving), Thursday Oct 31 (Halloween), Monday Feb 17 (Family Day), Friday April 10 (Good Friday), Monday May 18 (Victoria Day). The studio will be OPEN Monday April 13 (Easter Monday).

COMPETITIONS:

Competition choreography will start in early November. Competitive Group Dancers cannot miss any competitive classes for any reason from November to the May long weekend. Part Time Comp dancers cannot miss more than one week of classes from November to the end of May. A Comp parents meeting will be held in late October. ** The studio MUST know in advance if you will be missing any classes when choreography starts so we do not include you in the competition choreography

BALLET CLASSES:

Intro thru Primary B are once a week program. Grade 1 thru Grade 5 are twice a week program. Inter Found thru Advanced 2 are required to attend 4 Ballet classes per week.

RECITAL AND REHEARSAL DATES:

This year we will be performing at “The Rose Theatre” in downtown Brampton. Usually occurs 2nd or 3RD week of June. Please make sure all dancers are available for these dates. Non-Competitive classes will perform in 1 show and will have 1 rehearsal on stage. ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY FOR ALL REHERSALS or students risk the chance of not dancing in the recital and PLEASE be on time!!!!!

CLASSROOM ETIQUETTE:

All dancers MUST be properly dressed, on time for class and have a good work ethic. They must be respectful to teachers, parents, fellow dancers and their studio home.

DRESS CODE:

Intro to Jazz will need lightweight white canvas running shoes, Mini jazz and up will be wearing Bloch Black Elasta-booty. Intro to tap and Mini Tap must wear Black Patent Leather Tap Shoes (Velcro or Tie up). Junior Tap 1 and up will be wearing Bloch or Capezio Black lace up tap shoes. All girls may wear any colour leotard, tights, jazz pants, booty shorts or appropriate dancewear to Tap, Jazz or Acrobatics classes (all acro classes must be barefoot). Hip Hop students may wear any comfortable clothing with indoor runners. All girls must also have their hair away from their face in a ponytail for all the above classes. Boys may wear any colour t-shirt and jazz pants/shorts to the above classes.

In Ballet class, the girls must have the following: Intro to Primary must wear ballet pink bodysuits with pink ballet tights and pink leather shoes. Grade 1 to 3 must wear royal blue So Danca brand bodysuit. Grade 4 & 5 must wear burgundy So Danca brand bodysuit. Grade 1 to 5 must wear pink ballet tights and pink canvas split sole shoes and will need a character skirt and character shoes, which the teacher will confirm in class when to have them. Jr, Inter,Inter adv and Sr technique classes must wear black bodysuit, pink ballet tights and pink ballet shoes. Boys must wear a white t-shirt and navy or black shorts with white socks and white ballet slippers with elastics. All girls must have their hair in a bun at the back centre of their head for all ballet classes, including Intro to Primary classes.
